We’re pleased to announce that Joshua White has joined the Sportsman Sales team as a Junior Account Manager.
Having worked in the Customer Services team for ABN for 1 and a half years, Josh enjoyed the daily interaction with customers and was keen to progress into a more sales-oriented role. As a Junior Account Manager for Sportsman, he now handles the day-to-day management of his accounts, maintains meaningful relationships with customers and identifies and follows up on new business development opportunities.
“I’m enjoying getting to know our customers and interacting with them face-to-face. It’s great being out in the field and seeing first-hand how our customers operate on a day-to-day basis. I feel that developing and maintaining these relationships is key, and it’s a part of the job that I really enjoy,” comments Josh.
Josh learned the value of self-discipline and teamwork through his time in the Royal Marines.
“I moved from a busy office environment to being on the road, and it was a big change. You’ve got to have a certain amount of self-discipline and motivation to stay focused on your own, and my time in the Marines has definitely made it easier to adjust. Customers are always interested in hearing about my time in the Marines; it’s a real talking point!”
Sportsman’s commitment to research and development ensures that it is constantly aware of the challenges and trends within the game industry, which is essential to ensure that the products continue to offer the high quality results that customers expect. “The pressure to reduce antibiotic use is only going to grow, and a key challenge for me will be to help and advise my customers on ways that they can improve their overall farm performance to keep their birds healthy. Recommending the correct feed will be a key part of this.
“There’s never a typical day at Sportsman, so I’m constantly learning and being exposed to new aspects of the industry. I hope to continue to further my knowledge, as well as maintain valuable relationships with customers and build a profile for myself within the industry.”
